I first got involved in 3D printing in 2008 when Wade Bortz offered me a set of RepRap Darwin 3d printed parts. I traded them for a case of beer. Following that, I spent several years doing low-intensity tinkering on my Darwin. In the depths of the great recession it was good therapy.

When my stint at Philip Beesley Architect finished up, one of those weird alignments of coincidence ended up with me very quickly taking a job at Panda Robotics. As R&D head there, I've been responsible for every physical element of the PandaBot 3D printer, from conceptual design, to communication with fabricators and assembly/system integration of all the components.
