I made the Long-Tall shelf a few years ago as part of an industrial design class, exploring low-weight/high strength techniques. The shelf was intended to be a feature piece of furniture and provide a generious 3m of shelving space.

The construction techniques included a mix of techniques -- the bowed structural element is hand-laminated pine; the legs were CNC milled then hand finished.
